taking advantage of your kit lens (macro photography)

I use a canon 18-55mm f3.5-5 kit lens, but i can use it as a lens for macro photography..
how?
here's how to do it..
1.) gently remove the lens from the lens holder/curtain sensor
2.) Attach the frontal aspect of the lens , to the lens holder/ curtain sensor (literally reverse the lens)
3.) stabilize the lens using your pinky finger and thumb to the "circular" area around the sensor!
4.) voila! you're ready to use macro photography

pros:
-cost efficient

cons:
- cannot set the aperture through configuration, to do it manually, i will show you how on the next post
- need a very steady hand!!

here is a picture reference of the process..

sample pictures

^ this was taken using the macro technique (mentioned above) i set the zoom range on 55mm^

tip: if you want the image to be magnified closely, use 18mm as a zoom-in point , 55mm for general macro photography! if you have a shaky hand, i recommend you to purchase your own "MACRO-REVERSE RING MOUNT" this reverse ring mount will decrease camera shake, as this will "screw" the lens on the camera's lens holder
caution!: use this technique only on daylight, as it requires a very fast shutter speed to counteract camera shake

my philosophy in photography

the camera for me , is like one's second eye. you can see other "dimensions" in life when you are to take advantage of the lens and the camera settings.. when you take a picture, you incalcate your soul onto the subject, as if you are "one" with the subject, and then feel the image come alive because you are not only taking pictures with your hand, but also with your soul
.
this is my philosophy.
what's yours? :)

post some comments on it
